Never about himself. Always about others. Lou Beres founded his agency
in 1982 with a philosophy of serving the business needs of others,
rather than his own. Discussions with Lou usually began with, “what
can I do for you?”, and ended with a detailed action plan to
be spearheaded by LB/A. By focusing on his clients business needs,
and helping them to grow, his own business became successful as well.
Along the way, many of Lou’s clients became his closest personal
friends. That’s what happens when you are an agency guy with
a selfless vision. Pretty unique, that was Lou.
Lou was awarded a debate scholarship at Northwestern University without
even applying.
He later lead the team to it’s first national
championship title. He always enjoyed
meaningful discourse.
Lou built his agency from scratch based on his experience as a client ( Procter
and Gamble, SCJohnson, Alberto Cuiver) and in the agency business (Lee King & Partners,
Kenyon and Eckhardt, Dawson Johns and Black). Having experience on both sides
of the table made
him a marketing guy, not just an ad guy.
Lou always told his
clients what they needed to hear. No matter the consequences.
Lou practiced
honest business. He never cheated, not at golf, not at anything.
Lou
was so trustworthy that one client signed blank checks to the agency.
Lou
made a point of helping others in need, both personally and professionally.
